SmileFast process explained
- We listen – Talk to us about what you want to achieve with your smile, and we’ll help you set the wheels in motion.
- We scan – Next, we’ll take photographs/scans of your current smile and upload them to the SmileFast system.
- We create – Once your image is on screen, we’ll create something virtually with you. When you’re happy with the look, we’ll lock that image in.
- We fabricate – That information is then sent to the SmileFast team, who will quickly create a temporary composite veneer smile makeover for the front 6 teeth.
- We adjust – We’ll fit you with your temporary makeover, and using a period of trial and adjustment, you’ll have the perfect fit. This is then relayed back to SmileFast, which fabricates your permanent veneers.
- We fit – Finally, in just one sitting, we’ll prepare and fit your composite veneers for a brand-new smile.
Why SmileFast in Reading?
Like other veneer treatments, SmileFast allows you to conceal various dental flaws, including gaps, cracks, chips or blemishes. Where it differs, however, is that using the latest technology will give you a clear picture of exactly what we will achieve and the route and timeline required to get there.
Once your treatment plan has been agreed upon and your materials sent, our experienced dentists set to work applying up to 6 veneers to your front teeth in as little as 60 minutes.

FAQs
What’s the benefit of a composite veneer?
Composite is a resin reinforced with glass particles, the same material used in white fillings. Now, technology allows us to incorporate composite to cover the front teeth.
As opposed to a porcelain veneer, which needs to be milled, composite is applied as a resin-like material directly to the teeth. It’s perfect for those on a reduced budget and those who simply require some minimal tooth enhancement.
How many appointments will I need for SmileFast in Reading?
Generally, there are four appointments. The first is to discuss what you want and to take images, while the second appointment is to receive and fit your temporary teeth.
The third appointment is to make any adjustments to your trial smile, and the final meeting is to fit your new teeth. Treatment typically takes 2-3 weeks from initial consultation to final fitting.
What happens to my natural teeth underneath?
There will be some level of preparation for your natural teeth. This typically involves etching or roughing up the tooth enamel before fitting so the composite veneer bonds properly to the tooth’s surface. Even so, our skilled team ensures that a minimally invasive treatment is carried out comfortably.
Can I whiten my teeth after my SmileFast treatment is complete?
Unfortunately, composite veneers do not respond to teeth bleaching. Instead, it’s recommended that any teeth whitening be carried out before SmileFast treatment takes place.
Will I need a local anaesthetic?
Normally local anaesthetic is not required for Smilefast. However, if you have any concerns or you’re a nervous patient, please talk to us first, and we’ll do everything we can to put you at ease.
