Some of our patients want straighter teeth without anyone knowing, we understand and that’s why we offer Invisalign®!
Invisalign® is a modern, nearly invisible orthodontic treatment that uses a series of custom-made, clear aligners to straighten teeth. Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign® aligners are removable and made of smooth, comfortable plastic.
Invisalign® works by gradually straightening your teeth over some time. The first step is a consultation at our practice to discuss your Invisalign® treatment plan. Our team of professionals will create a 3D image of your teeth using an iTero scanner, a leading digital scanner from the makers of Invisalign®. This will help to form your bespoke aligners for your desired teeth.
Every set of Invisalign® aligners is completely bespoke to you, helping to create your dream smile. The Invisalign® lab will then create a set of aligners for your teeth that will help shift them to the desired position. Each aligner is worn for about 1-2 weeks before switching to the next one in the series. Our experienced Invisalign® dentists will monitor your progress.
When visiting our practice, our team of knowledgeable Invisalign® dentists will discuss the right treatment options for you. They will take images of your teeth and if they do not feel you are a good candidate for Invisalign®, this will be discussed with you during your consultation.
If you have gum disease or cavities, these oral health issues will need to be resolved before your Invisalign treatment plan can begin. Your dentist will discuss whether they think you are a good candidate or not so that you can make the right decision for you and your oral health.
For optimal results, Invisalign® aligners should be worn for 20-22 hours per day, only removing them to eat, drink, brush, and floss.
Invisalign® typically requires fewer visits than traditional braces. Most patients need to visit their dentist every 6-8 weeks to ensure the treatment is progressing as planned.
Since Invisalign® aligners are removable, there are no food restrictions! You can continue to eat your favourite foods without worrying about damaging wires or brackets. Just make sure to remove the aligners before eating and brush your teeth before putting them back in.
Invisalign® is less painful than traditional braces, but some discomfort is normal when switching to a new set of aligners. This is a sign that the aligners are working to move your teeth.
To keep your aligners clean and clear, brush them gently with a toothbrush and rinse them with lukewarm water. Avoid using hot water as it can warp the plastic. There are also special cleaning crystals available to keep them fresh.
Yes! Invisalign® treatment plans are created once you have had your assessment, using advanced 3D imaging software that allows you to see a virtual representation of how your teeth will move and what your results will look like before treatment even begins.
Getting started is easy! Book a consultation with an Invisalign® provider who will evaluate your teeth and discuss whether Invisalign® is the right option for you.
